An international businessman, Alhaji Abdullahi Shuaib Yaman, on Wednesday, emerged Kwara governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
Yaman, after the election that was monitored by the Independent Electoral Commission (INEC), scored 518 votes to beat Hon Ahman Patigi and Prof. Yisa Gana, who poll 31 votes and 14 votes respectively.

He dumped the APC for the PDP in March 2022 to contest the gubernatorial ticket which the party zoned to his district.
An indigene of Shonga in Edu Local Government Area, he also contested the governorship seat in 2003 and later the Kwara North Senatorial seat under the platform of the ACPN in 2011.
