The Society of Women Accountants of Nigeria (SWAN), Kano Chapter, has inaugurated its pioneer executive committee, with Mrs Christiana Oluranti-Danladi, emerging as its Chairperson.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the 11-member committee is expected to lead the society for the next two years.
Danladi said, after her investiture, that she would promote knowledge acquisition, training and health education for the members.
She also pledged to ensure their participation in district activities.
According to her, mentorship of youths will be encouraged through career talks, training and catch-them-young programs.
“We will conduct empowerment programs for women and training on financial management, among others,” she explained.
Earlier, a former president of Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN) and chairman of the occasion, Alhaji Isma’ila Zakari, congratulated the newly- elected executives, charging them to perform their tasks efficiently.
Zakari who is also a board member of International Federation of Accountant said the institute expected a lot of integrity from them, especially in terms of services to the community and the institute.
The national president of SWAN, Mrs Nwamara Nnaji, congratulated the new executives, urging them to follow the principles of righteousness and honesty.
She also urged the female accountants to be committed to the common good of the country. (NAN)
