Shekarau, G-7 members, others move to dump APC
Former Kano State Governor and Senator representing Kano Central, Malam Ibrahim Shekarau has is concluding arrangement to dump the All Progressive Congress (APC) for New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP).
A very reliable source told Solacebase on Monday that Malam Shekarau and other G-7 members of the APC are already in discussion with the Presidential aspirant of the NNPP and national leader of the party, Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso.
Senator Ibrahim Shekarau is the leader of the G-7 factions of the Kano APC that consist of 2 Senators, 5 House of Representatives members and other strong members of the party in the state.
Although, Senator representing Kano North, Barau Jibrin told Solacebase on Monday that he has obtained Senatorial form to recontest his seat.
The source said this is sequel to alleged defiance of Governor Abdullahi Ganduje to the National Chairman’s directive of the party, Abdullahi Adamu and that of the President that former Governors and incumbent Senators be given automatic ticket.
‘’You see, what we have discovered , Ganduje is playing a double game as he gave Basheer Lado the go ahead to purchase the Senatorial seat expression of interest and nomination form, so that he can give the national headquarters the impression that there is still unresolved crisis in Kano, the source said.
