A multi-regional groups have urged the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) to consider Chairman of National Drugs Law and Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) Brig. Gen. Buba Marwa (rtd) as credible running mate to her presidential candidate, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
Solacebase reports that the ethnic coalition include North First Initiative (NFI), All Niger-Delta Ethnic Nationalities Congress (ANDENC) and South-West Youths Front (SWYF) believed the APC presidential candidate needs a Vice president whose track record epitomizes competence, capacity and credibility typical in Marwa.
Raising from a joint meeting held on Saturday in Kaduna, the groups declared that none of the APC Governors, Ministers, serving and former presently lobbying to secure the position of the running mate to Tinubu has the capability and wealth of experience that Marwa possesses.

In a communique jointly signed by leadership of the three organizations that include Comrade Yusuf Alhassan (NFI), Comrade Kingsley Benedict Essien (ANDENC) and Comrade Olasukanmi Agunbiade Kelvin (SWYF), contended that knowledge, skill and abilities of Vice president to handle entrusted responsibilities should be the ultimate priority instead of Muslim-Muslim ticket.
“As always, the essence of the joint meeting is to discuss issues of relevance to both organizations and proffer workable and acceptable solution that would have lasting effects not only on the three regions which the organizations represent, but Nigeria as a whole.
” The 2023 general elections is an important landmark as it will enable Nigerians elect their leaders for another 4 years. That’s why we the members of these three organizations, as bonafide Nigerians, considered the year 2023 as a very crucial year that demands our urgent attention to delve on such issues of significant to our dear nation and it’s future.
“The meeting focused its attention on the position of the running mate to the APC presidential candidate Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu. Many names of serving Governors, Ex- Governors, Ministers and other individuals were suggested but the meeting unanimously focused on Muslim-Muslim ticket and resolved that the current Chairman of National Drugs Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) Brig. Gen. Mohammad Buba Marwa should be considered as running mate to Tinubu”.
Recalls that Buba Marwa was Lagos State military administrator that handed over power to Bola Tinubu as elected governor of the state in 1999.
