APC young presidential aspirant declares in Kano
Kano based young presidential aspirant, Aminu Saidu Badawa has declared his intention for the All Progressive Congress presidential ticket its primary election.
Recalls that the party had slated May 29 and 30th 2022 for its primaries that will see to the emergence of candidates for the 2023 general elections.
Addressing newsmen in Kano during his official declaration, Badawa who is 36 years old , said despite all odds he believes that the youths in Nigeria have a very important role to play in restoring the nation’s lost glories of being the giant of Africa.
He said his journey into presidential aspiration started long after the adoption of the not too young to run Act assent by President Muhammadu Buhari.
He explained that, it is equally important to note that the leadership of APC both at federal and state levels have been very supportive of his aspiration adding that the youths have the duty of exploring the chance that has been given to them in the ‘Not Too Young To Run’ act.
The young aspirant also revealed that there is a need for the leadership of APC to reconsider the fees tag attached to aspiration forms stating that the current economic situation of the nation should be taken into consideration.
“Though we were told that youths aspirants will be given a special consideration by paying 50% of the original fees for aspiration forms many of us will have to canvass for support from others in purchasing the fifty million Naira nomination form to participate in the APC Presidential Primaries. There is a need for the national party secretariat to review this,” he said.
