Ramadan: Federal lawmaker donates cash to tricycle riders, food items to less privileged in Kano
The Member representing Kano Municipal federal constituency, Sha’aban Ibrahim Sharada has donated N5,000 cash to over 1000 tricycle riders in Kano as part of Ramadan gesture and to refund them money collected by Kano State Government for their annual license review despite their resistance.
Solacebace reports that the lawmaker also donated foods items to less privileged in his constituency.
Donating the cash and food items on Saturday at his residence, the lawmaker said the gesture was part of his service to humanity.
According to him, Ramadan season remains the best time to give alms and support the down trodden.
For donating N5,000 cash to tricycles riders, Shaaban said the cash is to reduce the economic hardship faced by many of the tricycle riders noting that Kano government introduced the registration reviews without considering the economic situation in the country.
He said that most of the people who are in the business of tricycle riding in Kano ,are youths who are jobless and depends on the business to feed themselves and their relatives.
‘’ It has been a routine for me to render such service to God and humanity, because from the little God has blessed me with I try to share it with those who don’t have at all, ‘’ Sharada added.
The items donated include bags of millet, rice ,Maize and sugar.
