JUST IN: Tension at Kaduna airport as bandits prevent aircraft take off, kill one staff

Bandits have prevented an AZMAN aircraft scheduled for Lagos from take off on Saturday, from Kaduna airport. Solacebase can report authoritatively.

A source confirmed to Solacebase that a staff of the Nigerian Airspace Management Agency (NAMA) Shehu Na’Allah, was shot and killed by the bandits around the runway area of the airport.

The source said that the AZMAN aircraft could not take off  at about 12.30pm because of the presence of the bandits by the runways of the airport.

‘’As I speak to you now, there is already military presence to beef up security , though most of the staff are scared with the killing of the NAMA staff, the source said.

Confirming the development, the manager of the Airport, Mrs Amina Salami, said that the bandits invaded the airport through the perimeter fence from a nearby forest at about 1pm on Saturday afternoon, and started shooting sporadically to scare the workers.

The source said more than 10 trucks of the military are at the airport presently for reinforcement.

  1. These are not ordinary bandits, you don’t want to call a spade a spade but it is. This is Boko Haram no more no less.

  2. Why must we wait for this kind of embarrassment to happen. Its well known that, the airport area up to NDA is a bandit infested area and yet we cannot take proactive measures to stop the miscreants from harming the innocent ones.

  3. We have reported severally to the authorities about the incessant attacks in the area but nothing has been done.. The bandits aimed at our engineers who were at the side for a teem work , luckily about 10 of them escaped and they were able to shot one of our security man in the head and died few minutes later..   7. Attacks like this and all previous ones may continue until the government puts effective security checks in and around the circumference of the airport to safeguard lives and property.
    The Air Force Base around the area has its armory there
    NDA has its armory at the academy, the Dallet Barracks, and other military institutions are within proximity yet a cluster of armed bandits do their things and hold innocent citizens for hours unchecked.
    Are those in authority pretending that they don’t know what the bandits want around the airport and NDA?
    Once they get hold of what they want, the rest of Nigeria is…

  8. The funny thing is I just used the same airport and the same airline 3 days ago. It’s such a shame that this happens where you have an airport close NDA and the Air force. Though one can easily see that the security at the airport itself is weak.
    Until we get serious in this country, these kind of things would continue to happen.

I can’t imagine when you come up with a strategy to defeat the enemy,then, you go on air to an announced it that these are your plans, and expect the enemy to sit there waiting for to come and defeat them.this is an indirect sign of informing them to take cover.who is fooling who. this one na story to the chicks. Only God will save us, because the government is not ready to do the right thing because of selfish reasons.
