KUST VC inspects, inaugurates new facilities at the university

Vice Chancellor VC, Kano university of Science and Technology KUST, Wudil, Professor Shehu Alhaji Musa has applauded the Federal Government intervention on infrastructural development in the institution.

The VC stated this on Wednesday while inspecting the facilities ahead of resumption of academic session for 2021/2022.

A statement issued by the university deputy registrar, Sa’idu Abdullahi Nayaya, on Wednesday and sent to Solacebase said Professor Musa, who was accompanied by principal officers and management staff of the university, expressed determination to ensure conducive academic environment for teaching and learning.

Specifically referenced, the VC said the solar powered borehole constructed and donated to the university by senator representing Kano South, Kabiru Ibrahim Gaya, initiated to ease water challenge on the campus.

According to the VC, “The Purpose of this visit is to see and assess the level of development, renovations, and new utilities provided for the welfare of the students and staff with the aim of ensuring a peaceful and conducive atmosphere for administrative activities, learning, and research.

” Our first point of call is the student’s hostel complex where renovation works were carried out and the Vice-Chancellor, highly, commended the excellent work done. A newly integrity facility was also visited through the University’s Investment and Consultancy Company (KUSTCIL), the Management of the University purchased 260 beds, 2500 mattresses, and pillows.

“We also applauded Senator Kabiru Ibrahim Gaya, who provided a solar powered borehole in the students hostel complex as part of his constituency project, under the Federal Ministry of Works and Housing which we are commissioning today.

The Vice-Chancellor also inspected the 730 beds,1460 mattresses, office equipment and learning materials, tables, chairs, drawers, filing cabinets drawing tables with stools, magnetic whiteboards, public address system, and others provided to the university under the 2021 Needs Assessment Intervention Projects of the federal government and TETFUND special  intervention.

The VC charged the students to make proper use of the facilities while calling on well-meaning individuals and corporate organizations to support the University in its journey to greatness.
