No automatic tickets for candidates , NNPP Kano insists as Kwankwaso plans defection
The New Nigeria Peoples Party ( NNPP) Kano state Chapter has expressed readiness to welcome new entrants into the party both in the state and the country at large.
Kano Chairman of the party, Comrade Hisham Habib in a statement issued on Wednesday said the party will work with incoming partners in achieving the objectives of the great party, though insisted that there will be no automatic ticket for any member.
Solacebase had reported that the former Governor of Kano State, Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, is set to once again dump the Peoples’ Democratic Party, PDP, for the New Nigeria Peoples Party NNPP.
The outgoing National Secretary of the party, Ambassador Agbo Gilbert Major, disclosed this in Abuja, on Tuesday evening.
‘Already Senator Kwankwaso on Tuesday met with the leadership of NNPP in a bid to finalize his coming to the party which he is expected to use for his presidential ambition.
However, reacting to the news of that Senator Rabiu Kwankwaso is about to defect to the party from the Peoples’ Democratic Party, Hisham Habib said the Kano state leadership expect the national headquarters under the leadership of Dr Boniface Aniebonam to formalize all mergers and or alliances with groups coming into the party.
“We express our optimistic and vision for a better Kano and Nigeria where citizens will be given equal opportunities.
The chairman also explained that no automatic is guaranteed for incoming members but that card carrying members can contest for positions as stipulated in the party’s constitution.
The state party also wishes to thank the party leadership from the zonal level to the national level for its efforts in promoting the party.
