A Kano State High court sitting at Miller road has fixed March 7, for hearing on the allegations of corrupt practices filed against the incumbent Chairman of Fagge local government council, Mohammed Abdullahi Shehi.
Solacebase reports that the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offenses Commission (ICPC) had dragged the LG boss before the court to respond to alleged misappropriation of levies collected by the local government.
The prosecution slammed four-count charges bordering on diversion of remittance of revenue from government coffers.
The ICPC informed the court that in March 2018, the defendant gave the collecting team an unfair benefit of N689,000 in the form of a 20% commission, adding that In June 2018, the defendant allegedly released N733,000 to one Sani S. Ibrahim and N338,560 to one Abdullahi Adamu in the same month.

Also , in April same year, the defendant allegedly paid N399,000 to one Abdullahi Adamu, which was 20 percent of the generated money, rather than the permitted percentage.
It said the defendant acted contrary to Section 19 of the ICPC Act of 2000 .
The defendant denied the allegations filed against him before the court.

The court presided by Justice Jamilu Shehu Sulaiman, granted the Chairman, Mohammed Abdullahi Shehi bail in the sum of N500, 000 .00 ( Five hundred thousand naira)
The court then adjourned to March 7th, 2022, for hearing.
