UGS Consultant , Ibrahim Galadima table-tennis tournament gets date

The third edition of UGS Consultant and Ibrahim Galadima table-tennis championship has been slated to commence on Wednesday 3rd and Friday 5th, November, 2021 in Kano.

A statement signed by Coach Salaudeen Mushafi’u on Thursday said that all necessary arrangements have been in top gear towards the success of the tournaments.

He explained that the 32 players would be featuring in the UGS Consultant while 16 players would lock horns in Ibrahim Galadima’s championship Cup.

The Coach added that the preliminary round will take place on Saturday and Sunday, October 30th and 31st while main draws will hold next week and the final will comes up at the Indoor Sports Hall of Sani Abacha Sports Complex, Kofar Mata.

Coach  Mushafi’u said the competition’s  sponsor  and the Chief Executive officer of UGS Consultant, Engr.  Sulaiman Musa Sulkhan  has been sponsoring the two competitions as part of his efforts to identify the hidden talents for future national and international engagements.

The coach then applauded Sulkhan for his commitment and zeal especially in keeping teeming youth busy through sports, appealing to other wealthy individuals and corporate organisations to emulate.

He, however, called on the state government to build an indoor table tennis facilities in order to encourage and support the teeming players to actualise their set objective.

“Since table tennis is an indoor game but here in Kano, we lack that facilities. We were force to play outdoor which have a lot of consequences towards mastering the game by the players.

“We believe Governor Abdullahi Umar Ganduje has keen interest in sports and he love to see things going perfectly in the state”, the coach explained.

He said if state government construct indoor  table tennis hall, there is no doubt that the state will definitely improve it national rankings as far as table tennis is concerned in the state and the country at large.

Coach Salaudeen Mushafi’u  urged the competition’s sponsor to continue to contribute his quota by  sponsoring the competition annually in order to assist the players to become self reliance in the society.

The Coach then announced that the Executive Chairman of Kano State Sports Commission, Alhaji Ibrahim Galadima is expected to be the special guest of honour at the closing ceremony of the competition slated for Friday 5th, November 2021,  at Sani Abacha Sports Complex Kofar Mata.
