Emir of Kano, Alhaji Aminu Ado Bayero

Bayero University Mass Communication Alumni Association (BUMCAA) on Thursday visited the Emir of Kano, Alhaji Aminu Ado Bayero at his palace.

Solacebase reports that Dr. Abubakar Shehu Minjibir, Chairman of BUMCAA 40th Anniversary Organizing Committee led the delegation made up of Bayero University Kano, Head of Department, Mass Communication Dept. Dr.  Mainasara Kurfi, Dr. Bala Muhammad (A Daidaita Sahu & Daily Trust), Dr. Hajara Sanda, Dr. Hadiza Ibrahim, Dr. Saminu Umar, Dr. Ashir Inuwa and several others.

A statement issued by Secretary Publicity Sub-Committee, BUMCAA, Tijjani Muhammad Musa, on Thursday , said the Chairman of the proposed BUMCAA November Grand Home-coming committee intimated the Emir about preparations being in top gears, hence the need to solicit for his royal presence during the epoch occasion and for his unrelenting support and blessings being an alumnus of the media training and development department.

‘’Dr. Minjibir further extended the Association’s congratulatory message to the Emir on his ascension of the Kano Emirate throne, then expressed condolences to Alhaji Aminu Ado Bayero over the loss of his mother, late Hajia Maryam Ado Bayero Mai Babban ‘Daki, said the statement.

‘’Aminu Ado Bayero on his part expressed happiness about the long overdue development and promised to be at the event programs as well as provide maximum support for the success of the 40th anniversary by ensuring all dignitaries expected to be at the occasion turn up.’’

According to the statement, the visit was scheduled as part of preparations towards the formal inauguration of the journalism and media professionals alumni association and to celebrate four decades of producing some of the best media personalities not just in Kano, for the north and Nigeria, but the world in general.
