The Emir of Okuta, in Kwara State, Alhaji Idris Sero Abubakar has conferred the traditional title of Shettima Okuta Emirate on Malam Abdulazeez Arowona.
This was announced in a letter of appointment signed by Kperogi Affon Serobetete III, Emir of Okuta and Chairman Baruten traditional council, Alhaji Idris Abubakar dated October 11th, 2021.
Solacebase reports that the letter said the conferment of the title was due to his versatility in journalism profession and as a social entrepreneur who has being championing the course of cultural preservation and development of communities.
The letter read,’’We recognize your unwavering loyalty to His Royal Highness, Alhaji (DR) Ibrahim Sulu-Gambari CFR, the Emir of Ilorin and Chairman Kwara State Council of Chiefs, the Ilorin Emirate Council, respect for Traditional Rulers in Kwara State as well as the entire Traditional Institution in the Northern Nigeria.’’

The statement added that the turbaning ceremony is scheduled to hold at the Gaani cultural festival from November5th -7th, 2021 at the Emir’s palace square, Okuta, Baruten local government area, Kwara State.
