2023: Comrade Isa Tijjani writes open letter to PDP Hqrts

The National Secretary,

People’s Democratic Party,

Wadata House,

Dear Sir,

I write to reaffirm my tacit believe and strong conviction in our party the PDP.

I am greatly encouraged that we have the potentials and strategy to regain power.

It is true that we are faced with challenges, which are not in any way insurmountable. We must therefore endeavor to thrive and put our acts together for the benefit of our party, citizens and the nation at large.

I am predicating my intent to run for the highest office in the party to correct anomalies. Already we are bedeviled with several self inflicted wounds the clog which we must remove from our eyes to make a meaningful impact.

I have been told that the position of the National Chairman has been zoned to the south west, in essence, the idea is to pave way for the emergence of a Northern candidate for the post of President of Nigeria. I strongly object to that hence my desire to exercise my democratic right of fundamental human rights.

The argument has been that ‘we’ in the north have the numerical strength to make a president on our own. I reject that notion. How many times did President Muhammadu Buhari contested for the position and failed. He only realized his ambition after the south west under the leadership of Asiwaju Bola Tinubu gave him support before it became a reality

For fairness, justice, equity and sense of togetherness a person from either of the following regions should emerge and we follow him. South East, South West or South South.

We already have multitudes of problems seeking solutions. To do this is tantamount to handing over an arsenal  to fight the nation which we all know is already fragile .

To this end therefore, I  am by this letter informing you of my intention to vie for the position of the National Chairman. As a dedicated party member, I hope I will not be pushed to seek for the interpretation and enforcement of my fundamental human rights.

Thanks in anticipation of your positive response.

Please accept, my dear National Secretary, the assurance of my dedication to the cause of the party at all times while assuring you of my highest esteem.

Yours Faithfully

Comrade Isa Tijjani mni
