Kano State Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Alhaji Murtala Sule Garo has expressed sadness over the death of the Emir of Gaya, Alhaji Ibrahim Abdulkadir.
Solacebase reports that the late Emir of Gaya, Alhaji Ibrahim Abdulkadir, died on Wednesday aged 91, due to ill health.
In a statement personally signed by the commissioner, he described the death of the late emir as a loss to the family, the emirate, the state and Nigeria at large considering the leadership acumen and wealth experience of the nonagenarian.
The statement said during the reign of the late emir , his selfless service consolidated the peaceful coexistence of the people in the emirate.

‘’The late Emir would be remembered for his support towards developmental strides of the government aimed at making live easy for the people,’’ said the statement.
‘’Despite his age during his lifetime, he was never found wanting in impacting on the lives of the people positively.”
Alhaji Murtala Sule Garo, in the statement commiserated with Governor Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, the State, the Gaya Emirate Council and the family of the deceased.
The commissioner prayed Almighty Allah to forgive his shortcomings and grant him paradise.
