Suspended Chairman ,Kano State Public Complaints and Anti-Corruption Commission , Barr. Muhuyi Magaji Rimigado .

*Muhuyi to drag Dr. to court for endangering his life

The National Hospital Abuja has replied to Kano State House of Assembly, on the medical reports submitted by the suspended chairman of the Kano State Public Complaints and Anti-Corruption Commission, PCACC, Barr. Muhuyi Magaji Rimigado describing them as fake.

The hospital said the reports did not emanate from the health institution.

Solacebase recalls that Rimigado was supposed to appear before the assembly ad-hoc committee investigating a petition against him on Wednesday, July 14, 2021, but tendered medical reports over ill health.

According to the letter submitted to the assembly by his Lawyer, Barr. Umar Fari,“Our brief further reveals that a letter with reference No. KNHA/CON/007 dated the 12th of July was dumped in our client’s residence while our client was away on a medical appointment at National Hospital Abuja on the said 12th of July late in the evening.

“Copies of both the letter and medical records are herewith enclosed for ease of reference,”

Also in the letter submitted by Muhuyi Lawyer to the assembly, asking for a new date to appear before the ad-hoc committee, it demanded a certified true copy of the house resolution suspending his client as Chairman, certified true copy of press releases by the house of July 5th, 2021.

However, sensing trouble as the process of the suspension by the house was faulted by legal practitioners as due process was not followed.

Similarly, the house discovered after the suspension that it is not empowered to suspend the Chairman but rather make a resolution to the governor to that effect.

Hence it back-track the next day saying it only made recommendation to the governor as it dioes not have the legal right to suspend any chief executives.

In a reply dated July 19, 2021, with reference number NHA/CMAC/GC/0117/2021/V.I/01 and signed by the director, Clinical Services, Dr A.A. Umar, the National Hospital said it investigated the documents and discovered that they were forged.

“Following your request on the above, and the subsequent investigations, we wish to state the following findings:

“1. There is no patient named Muhuyi Magaji in our hospital record and no folder was opened in that name.

“2. That by our records, the name and signature of doctor (Dr. Bayo) on the Medical Report do not belong to any staff of the National Hospital Abuja.

“3. Laboratory investigations in the National Hospital are no longer manually written on paper but electronically transmitted.

In the letter, the hospital added, “In the light of the above, Sir, the Medical Report/documents, which you attached its photocopies are NOT authentic.’’

A source close to the suspended Chairman, Muhuyi Magaji said they were surprise with the National Hospital reply as the medical doctor, Dr Bayo has been the physician treating him all along even with the medical records Muhuyi took to Egypt in May for further treatment.

Hence Muhuyi is already contemplating instituting legal action against the physician for endangering his life.

‘’ You see most politically exposed people have doctors that treat them privately but mostly work in government hospitals, for them not to go through the rigours’ of the government hospitals,’’ said the source.

‘’So the doctor would explain to the court how he came about the medical records and test results.’’

‘’Right now as I speak to you, Muhuyi is even scared that the doctor has placed his life at risk with the treatment accorded him all this while.’’
