JUST IN: Beninese court remands Sunday Igboho, releases wife


The Cour De’appal De Cotonou, Benin Republic, where Yoruba Nation agitator, Sunday Adeyemo (Igboho) and his wife, were arraigned on Thursday has ordered the release of the wife.

Also, the court ruled that Igboho should be returned to custody.

An official said, “They just finished from the court. The wife is to be released this night and Sunday is to remain in custody. The matter was adjourned till Friday.’’

Solacebase gathered that Igboho is undergoing trial for obtaining a fake Beninoise international passport in Cotonou capital of the Republic of Benin, before facing an extradition trial.

Recalls that Sunday Igboho was awaiting his fate at the Cour De’appal De Cotonou, Benin Republic, following his arraignment by the authorities of the country for immigration-related offences.

Igboho was taken to court on Thursday afternoon.

Igboho and his wife, Ropo, a German citizen, were arrested at Cardinal Bernardin International Airport, Cotonou, as they attempted to board a flight to Germany on Monday night.
