Sallah Break: Kano directs schools resumption May 17

Kano State Government has directed the resumption of students in both primary and secondary schools on Monday, May,17th, 2021, after the Sallah break.

The State Commissioner for Education, Malam Muhammad Sanusi  Saidu Kiru announced this in a statement sent to Solacebase on Saturday.

Solacebase reports that Kano State Government last week directed both primary and secondary schools in the state to embark on a five day Sallah holiday approved by the state government from May 11th -15th

Kiru said students in the boarding schools are expected to resume on Sunday, May 16th.

He appealed to parents to ensure that their children and wards resume schools as directed as sanction await any student that resumes late.

‘’We have made all necessary arrangement with school principals and head teachers to go round to monitor headcount to detect students who fail to resume as directed so that appropriate sanction can be meted on such students,’’ Sanusi Kiru said.

‘’The state government would not fold its arms and allow students to resume schools at will contrary to its directive aimed at ensuring qualitative education.’’

The education seeks the collaboration of parents to ensure that their children resume as directed.
