BUK students organize ‘Iftar’ to foster unity

Bayero University Kano, Library and Information Science students (LIS) on Thursday organized a special Iftar to break their Ramadan fast.

The level Coordinator of 100 Library and Information Science Students, Dr Hauwa S. Ahmad, advised the Library and information science students to be good ambassadors of the institution.

Dr Hauwa urged them to always exhibit love and care among themselves to foster unity

Earlier speaking, the class representative Saleh Isah, said the Iftar event was organized to expressed happiness over the success recorded in their first-semester examination result.

“We thank the Almighty God for given us the opportunity to hold this event, our intention is to show our gesture to Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta’alah for having good grades in our first-semester examination,” Saleh Isah said.

He also urged the class members to emulate this kind of gesture even after this holy month of Ramadan, because it will help to Unite class members.

On his part, the assistant class rep Muneeruddeen Othman said more than two hundred class members including the other departments’ colleagues attended the Iftar.

Muneeruddeen Othman also called on the LIS Students and the entire Muslim Ummah to have a clear intention in all their actions.

The Iftar Programme was attended by level 100 to 400 students from various departments.
