The funeral of late Chadian President Idriss Deby, who died on Tuesday from injuries sustained during fighting with rebels, is being held on Friday.

President Deby, who has ruled the country for more than 30 years, died a day after election results showed he was the winner where he plans to take office for a sixth term.

His son Mahamat Idriss Déby Itno, popularly known as General Kaka, will lead the country for 18 months until elections are held.

Mr Deby’s funeral is being held in N’Djamena, the capital of Chad.
