Insecurity: Zamfara ‘illegal miners’ relocate to Kano- Emir raises alarm

The Karaye emirate council in  Kano State has alerted people of the emirate on the possible migration of miners to some areas of the Emirate.

The Council gave the warning Thursday at the end of its’ meeting held under the Chairmanship of the Emir of Karaye, Alhaji Ibrahim Abubakar II in his palace.

This was contained in a statement issued by Karaye emirate council Information Officer, Haruna Gunduwawa, and sent to Solacebase.

‘’The Council noted with concern that, following the federal government’s banning of mining activities in Zamfara state, reports indicate that, some miners migrated to the Emirate in search of solid mineral resources, ‘’said the statement.

‘’The Council has therefore enjoined people to report such people to the security agencies where ever their movement was noticed.’’

‘’The Karaye emirate council has also applauded Gwarzo local government for introducing Migrants Registration in an effort to ensure maximum security in it’s locality.

According to the statement, the Traditional Council’s meeting which is the second in this year has strongly charged other local government in the Emirate to imbibe the initiative for enhancement of security services in their respective domains.

‘’The council reaffirmed its’ readiness to remain committed to completing government tireless effort towards ensuring peace and economically developed security.’’
