LG Elections : Alfindiki wins Kano Municipal APC Chairmanship ticket

Fa’izu Alfindiki, former Special Adviser to Kano State Governor, Abdullahi Umar Ganduje has won the  All Progressives Congress, APC Chairmanship ticket in Municipal Local Government Area of the state in the upcoming local government elections scheduled for January 2021.

Kano Municipal Local Government is one of the hotspots where consensus could not be reached until a candidate emerged through primaries due to issues surrounding the governor’s preferred candidate in the group of Mukhtar Ishaq Yakasai, Commissioner for Special Duties as against Sha’aban Ibrahim  Sharada, House of Representatives member from the federal constituency led group.

The Sha’aban Ibrahim Sharada supported aspirant, Murtala Dandawaki was floored by Fa’izu Alfindiki with a very wide margin.

At the primary election conducted on Saturday, Fa’izu Alfindiki scored 423 votes to defeat  Murtala Dandawaki who had only 4 votes.

Solacebase reports that at the end of the primary, Chairman of the poll, Yusuf Lafasa, declared Fa’izu Alfindiki winner having scored the majority of the vote cast during the election.

Speaking shortly after the declaration,  Faizu Alfindiki appreciated the Party Leaders, election officials and his counterparts from the other local governments who wished him well.

He praised the people who voted for him, saying it was their efforts that led to his victory.
