Ganduje appoints Governing Board members of Kano State Ultra-Modern Specialist Hospitals

Governor Abdullahi Umar Ganduje of Kano state has approved the appointment of Chairman and members of the Kano State Ultra-Modern Specialist Hospitals Governing Board.

This was contained in a statement issued on Sunday by Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Abba Anwar.

Solacebase reports that the appointment is with immediate effect.

According to the statement, ‘’While acknowledging that their appointment was on merit, he urged them “To always put service to the state first before any other thing. As enshrined in the rules and regulations governing the affairs of the two ultra-modern hospitals.”

“Make sure that you discharge your duties diligently, with much concern to ethical standards. This administration places emphasis on the health sector, you should therefore abide by the global best practice,’’ the statement said.

‘’The use of modern technology, according to him, is necessary and desirable, he emphasises that, “IT-based practice in the healthcare delivery system is one of the basic things that the sector requires globally. Kano should therefore not be left behind.”

Those appointed are, Prof Yusuf D. Sabo as Chairperson, Dr Hadiza Ashiru as the Chief Executive Officer, Dr Abdullahi Kauranmata as representative from Ministry of Health Zahraddeen Lawan as representative from Ministry of Finance and Eng. Murtala A. Garba as representative from Due Process

The statement said others include Hajiya Bilkisu Maimota, a representative from Office of the Secretary to the State Government, Hajiya Halima Ali Aware representative from Kano State Investment Promotion Agency, Hajiya Hafsat Kolo representative from Civil Society Organisations (CSOs), Alhaji Kabiru Nassarawa representative from the Private Sector,  Sanusi Ali Sadiq representative from ANAN/ICAN Kano State Branch  and Madam Comfort Onwuegbuna representing Women Organisations

In the statement, Ganduje called on them to always give their best towards further strengthening health institutions in the state. “And help the state in maintaining her position as one of the leading state in the country with the best healthcare delivery system.”
