I have received many messages that I have been arrested and sentenced to jail earlier today. I have no idea where the news emanated from. I'm therefore calling on people to stop spreading FAKE and unfounded stories…

Thank you for putting that dangerous fake news to rest, Rahama. Shame on you all who are deliberately trying to incite particular sections of people against each other. Your evil intentions will never work against our dear country, in sha Allah. https://t.co/ErDAFE5CJ7

However, Lawal Gusau, who petitioned the Inspector-General of Police, IGP, Mohammed Adamu, against Rahama Sadau, has alleged that some powerful hands at the Presidential Villa and a Commissioner of Police are shielding the Kannywood actress from arrest.
Lawal Gusau made the allegation in an interview with The Punch in Kaduna on Tuesday.
Recall that Rahama Sadau had posted some racy pictures on her social media pages, sparking blasphemous comments.
Although the actress later deleted the pictures and apologised to the general public.
However, Lawal Gusau, petitioned the IGP, demanding the arrest and prosecution of the actress “in the interest of peace and serenity of the country”,
He lamented that Miss Sadau’s arrest was prevented by an unidentified Commissioner of Police, despite the IGP’s order.
‘’When the Kaduna CP sent his men to Abuja to pick her up, she went into hiding and quickly obtained a UAE visa with members of her family in order to flee the country, ‘’he alleged.
“I am not happy with the way the police are handling the matter. Rahama Sadau was trying to escape and had obtained UAE visas for herself and her family but the police were able to track her phone and arrest her brother who led the policemen to her.
“The policemen from Kaduna State were about to arrest her and take her to the SCID when a phone call from one CP came in and the policemen were asked to leave her alone and that she would report to Kaduna by herself.
“What gave that CP the power to overrule the IG? Now, Rahama has refused to turn herself in. She is being protected by that CP and some people from the Presidential Villa. This is most unfortunate.”
