Again, Kano arrests 17 herbal medicine vendors

Kano state government in its ongoing task force commitments toward sanitizing the activities of the private health sector raided and arrested 17 herbal medicine vendors for violating the law banning the use of vulgar words in advertising their products in the metropolis.

Solacebase recalls that the taskforce on Saturday arrested 13 suspects which the committee vowed to prosecute so as to serve as a deterrent to others.

The Executive Secretary, Kano state Private Health Institutions Management Agency PHIMA, Dr Usman Tijjani Aliyu told Solacebase on Monday that the suspects were apprehended at Gyadi-Gyadi/Court road, ‘Yan Kaba Bus Stop, Janguza Market, Kofar Ruwa, Katsina road, ‘Yan Kura and Bata area.

Dr Usman Tijjani Aliyu said 7 cars and 10 wheelbarrows used for the law violation were confiscated, noting that most of them were apprehended on Sunday evening.

‘’The raiding and arrest are continuous exercise to rid the state of this menace, ‘’said the Executive Secretary.

He appreciated the support and information provided by Kano residents to rid the state of the nuisance constituted by the violators.
