Suspected hoodlums attacked protesters of #ENDINSECURITY Now, on BUK road, by Kofar Famfo in Kano on Thursday.
The protest that started from Kabuga quarters in Gwale local government area was peaceful until the protesters ran into the suspected hoodlums that inflicted injuries on them and a reporter.
Solacebase reports that some of the suspected hoodlums were wielding cutlasses, Knives and other dangerous weapons.
The Protest was organized across the Northern states by the Coalition of Northern Groups (CNG) against the lingering insecurity bedevilling the north
A member of the group, Usaini Adamu who spoke to journalists said that the thugs, brandishing dangerous weapons invaded the gathering, opposite BUK old campus and started attacking members of the CNG.
Adamu said though there was no casualty in the attack, a few of the members sustained minor injuries, adding that they were saved by the prompt intervention of security agents.
“Only a few of us sustained some minor injuries because security operatives promptly intervened and dispersed them.
“We were grouping here, suddenly these thugs descended on us and started beating us. Most of us scampered for safety while some of us resisted until security agents arrived and dispersed them.
