Kano State Public Complaints and Anti-Corruption Commission says the state deputy governor, Nasiru Yusuf Gawuna is not under investigation as been insinuated.
The Commission Chairman, Muhuyi Magaji Rimin Gado in a statement on Tuesday said investigation in the Ministry of Agriculture involve some staff of the Ministry and not the Deputy Governor as mischievously portrayed by a section of the media.
According to the statement the Commission had invited the Permanent Secretary, Director Livestock and other staff of the Ministry where they made useful contribution to the ongoing investigation.
Solacebase reports that an alleged misappropriation of over N15m was discovered in the ministry whereby due to ongoing investigation ,a recovery of N 7,150,000.00 has so far being made.
The offence , the statement said contradict Section 26 of the Kano State Public Complaints and Anti-Corruption Commission Law 2008 (as amended).
The statement added that ,therefore, any attempt to involve the Deputy Governor is sensational, false and misleading.
‘’For the clarity of doubt, the investigation was initiated with full consent, support and cooperation of the Deputy Governor,’’ said the statement.
‘’Therefore the Commission urges the public to disregard any false information suggesting that the Deputy Governor is under investigation.’’
