COVID-19: Kano distributes PPEs to 538 schools ahead of reopening

Kano State government on Saturday distributed Personal Protection Equipment (PPEs) to 538 Public and private schools ahead of reopening to write final exams for SS3 Students in the state.

The State Governor Dr Abdullahi Umar Ganduje represented by his Deputy Alhaji Nasiru Yusuf Gawuna said the PPEs, which include facemask, Thermometer, Hand Sanitizers, gloves, glasses, among others would be distributed to schools free for use by students as the state government planned trial resumption of public schools for final students.

Dr Ganduje said that the distributions of PPEs to students and their teachers as part of the administration’s effort to check the spread of COVID-19.

Solacebase reports that about 538 schools both public and private would benefit from the PPEs gesture.

Earlier, the state Commissioner for Education, Muhammad Sanusi Kiru, said that a trial resumption of schools would begin on August 10th.

He warned that PPEs should not be should as the state government is distributing same free to support public and private schools.
