Malam Sanusi II departs Nigeria for Senegal

The 14th Fulani Emir of Kano, Malam Muhammadu Sanusi II on Thursday departed Nigeria for Senegal to attend the fidau prayer of Grand Khalifa of Tijjaniyya Islamic Movement in Africa, Khalifa Shiekh Ahmed Tijani Nyass in Kaolaq, Senegal.

Solacebase reports that the revered Islamic Scholar died on Tuesday, August 3rd.

Recalls that Malam Muhammadu Sanusi II is the grand son of Khalifa Tijjani in Africa, late Emir of Kano, Malam Muhammadu Sanusi I, who died in 1990.

Malam Muhammadu Sanusi II departed the Murtala Muhammad International Airport, Lagos, in a private aircraft after approval from the federal government considering that due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Nigeria airspace only allows domestic travels.

He was accompanied by his Chief of Staff, Mannir Sanusi ( Danburan Kano) and two other aides.

The former emir is expected back in the country on Thursday evening.
