Court remands suspected serial rapist in Kano, ‘Mai Siket’ in correction centre

The Police on Wednesday arraigned a suspected serial rapist,  Muhammad Alfa, who allegedly raped 40 women in the last one year in Kano, including an 85-year-old woman.

The suspected rapist was arraigned on a  two-count charge before magistrate court No. 18 at noman’s land for raping several women including an old woman at Kwanar Dan Gora, about 70km out of Kano.

The Prosecutor, Badamasi Gawuna said the suspect admitted raping over 40 women in the past one year, adding that some of the victims included children and an 80-year-old woman.

Also, the suspect, 32, admitted to committing the crimes.

Solacebase reports that when the suspect was paraded by the Police, some of the rape victims said the suspect, also known as “Mai Siket” allegedly had carnal knowledge of them with spiritual power.

In his ruling,the Magistrate,  Muhammad Hassan adjourned the matter to 20th  July 2020 for a ruling.
