Journal and Country Ranking Group, a university of Granada, Spain based Research team, the Scimago has ranked the Federal University Dutse in Jigawa state as the number one university in Nigeria and the 21st in Africa.
This was contained in their 2020 ranking released on Monday.
The Federal University Dutse emerged the best out of 28 institutions surveyed in Nigeria while it emerged the 21st out of 115 institutions surveyed in Africa.

The Vice-Chancellor, Federal University, Prof. Fatima Batul Mukhtar congratulated management, staff and students for this recognition adding that this ranking will spur the university to do more.
It would be recalled that the university research team has recently discovered a herbal medicine for the treatment of diabetes. The team is also working on COVID-19 herbal base drug.
