(COVID-19): 40 AKTH doctors, health workers discharged from Isolation

Aminu Kano Teaching Hospital on Thursday announced the discharge of forty out of Fifty doctors and health workers that got infected with COVID 19 at the hospital over three weeks ago from isolation centres.

The Chief Medical Director of the hospital Professor Abdurrahman Abba Sheshe announced this while receiving a donation of some hospital consumables and food items from one of the supplier of drugs to the hospital on Wednesday.

Professor Sheshe explained that” it is really a thing of joy to share with everybody the news that the review on the test of those workers who were infected by COVID 19 some weeks ago and put on Isolation was just forwarded to him with forty of them tested negative no death recorded and no condition attached with the discharged.

Solacebase recalled that weeks back, some doctors, nurses and other health workers including a cleaner tested positive to COVID-19 at Aminu Kano Teaching Hospital.

This was contained in a statement forwarded to Solacebase by Spokesperson of the hospital, Hajia Hauwa Abdullahi on Thursday.

According to the statement, Prof. Sheshe said that the remaining ten staff who are still on Isolation were doing very well and probably be discharged before Eid Fitr as disclosed by their caregivers.”I am so happy and with the donation, you are bringing to the hospital.’’
