Accountant General of the Federation, Ahmed Idris has donated N2, 000, 000.00 to the Kano state Fund Raising Committee on COVID-19 to assist in alleviating the effects of the dreaded coronavirus shocking the worldwide public.
Giving updates on the donations in kind and cash, a member of the committee and commissioner for Information, Malam Muhammad Garba, said in a statement that Eze Igbo also donated N500, 000.00 to the Fund Raising Committee.
The commissioner gave details of the donors so far as follows: Clear Vision Global Link Ltd N500, 000.00
Prince Hotel N250, 000.00, Flour Mills 3, 000 cartons of Mai Kwabo spaghetti and 3, 000 (10KG) bags of Dawavita, Ladaja Company 100 (50kg) bags of rice and Skipper Ltd 50 (25kg) bags of rice.
Others include Gala Investment Ltd 100 cartons of spaghetti, 100 cartons of Indomie and 300 mattress
Grand Cereal 250 cartons of Corn Flakes, 300 crates of eggs, 1800 pieces of 0.75 litre of Soya oil Bayero University Kano (BUK) 65×12 cartons (1,980 pieces) of sanitizer and National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) 4×12 cartons (48 pieces) of sanitizer, 6×12 (72 pieces) of liquid soap and 80 pieces of face masks
According to the statement, Malam Garba stated that organizations and wealthy individuals within and outside the state to donate generously towards the committee set up to seek and collect donations in cash or kind and distribute same to those in need so as to cushion the harsh effect of the measures being taken by the government against the spread of COVID-19 in Kano.
‘’Anyone willing to donate to the committee in cash should pay/transfer to this account: Kano State COVID-19 Support, UBA, Account No: 1022751785, while donations in kind are also collected at a warehouse at number 94, Maganda Road and Kano State Government Printing Press, Emir’s Palace, ’’ it said.
