COVID-19 : Kwankwaso Advocates National Prayer Day

Former Kano state Governor has advocated national prayer day and advised Nigerian citizens to intensify prayers against the pandemic disease of COVID-19 also known as coronavirus.

Dr. Kwankwaso, leader of the  Kwankwasiyya Movement gave the advice while addressing a gathering of stakeholders of the People’s Democratic Party in Kano.

According to him, “We must be very careful of this disease and ensure that we adhere to whatever guide given by health experts, I want to advise us to avoid any unnecessary gathering until significant progress is made on addressing COVID-19 epidemic.”

Dr Kwankwaso, the immediate past Senator, representing Kano Central, who is known as an education promoter in Nigeria, also advocated the adoption of virtual learning for Schoolchildren throughout the school closure period.

‘’Government can promote the use of online streaming or other audio/visual contents to teach lessons virtually so as not to allow children remain idle in their homes, ‘’ Kwankwaso said.

‘’The virtual learning would provide an opportunity of safe space for school children during the closure and will not affect the national school calendar.’’

“Coronavirus is a big lesson to all of us, we must collectively engage ourselves in prayers for Almighty Allah to come to our rescue over this international epidemic,” Kwankwaso said.
