Following the public outcry on the naked viral video of Kannywood actress Maryam Booth, Chairman Kano State Guild of Artist Malam Alasan Kwalle, has revealed that the guild in collaboration with the security is working to assist the actress in fishing out the perpetrators of the act.
Speaking to Solacebase on Monday, Kwalle revealed that, though the matter is not connected to the industry but rather an attempt to soil the actress public reputation and personality; the guild in collaboration with security agencies are working towards addressing the issue through the arrest of the alleged perpetrators.
He added that two people a male and a female have been identified as the alleged perpetrators of the viral video by leaking it out on social media platforms.
The alleged leaked video went viral after it was released on the internet last week has generated a serious confusion within and outside the Kannywood film making industry.
Similarly, the Kano state censorship Board Director-General, Malam Isma’ila Naabba Afakallah stated that the board has no legal backing to sanction the actress as what had happened wasn’t a film but a personal video.
All attempt to get the actress proved abortive as all routes to her mobile phone were not going through.
