Kano Govt. Reacts To Court Injunction On Constituting Council Of Chiefs

Kano state government has reacted to the interim injunction served by a Kano High Court regarding the existence of the newly created Emirates in the state.

A press statement signed by the commissioner for Information, Malam Muhammad Garba on Wednesday indicated that the court order does not affect the existence of the new Emirates.

Solacebase recalled that a Kano High Court presided by Justice Ahmed Tijjani Badamosi on Tuesday issued an interim injunction stopping the governor from constituting the Kano Council of Chiefs and fixing December 17 for hearing a motion on notice.

He described the circulation of the order to the propaganda of evil machination of those opposed to the creation of the new Emirates and will be disappointed when the court rules on a substantive judgment.

The statement further assured that the ruling would be in favour of the Kano state government considering that due process was followed in the exercise.

The commissioner urged people in the state to remain calm and be law-abiding while the court decides.
