Emir of Karaye Alhaji Ibrahim Abubakar II on Monday inaugurated its council and held its maiden meeting at the Emir’s palace.
The inauguration was attended by all local government councils chairmen and other high chiefs of the emirate.
This was contained in a statement issued by Karaye Emirate council Information Officer Haruna Gunduwawa and sent to Solacebase on Monday.
Solacebase recalled that Governor Abdullahi Umar Ganduje last Thursday assented to the bill reestablishing the Emirates after its passage by the state house of assembly the same day.
The statement said the Emir of Karaye who is also the chairman of the council Alhaji Ibrahim Abubakar II thanked Governor Abdullahi Umar Ganduje for signing into law for creating additional emirates in the state after been passed by the state house of assembly.
The monarch according to the statement, lauded the state government and house of Assembly for what he described as a giant stride towards actualizing the yearning of the people.
It said during the meeting which was dominated by security issues, the council endorsed the eight local council chairmen to provide registers to all village heads of respective areas for registering names of all strangers that are coming to their domains to ensure the maximum security in the emirate.
‘’Also as part of ensuring adequate security, peace, and tranquility in the emirate, the council stressed the needs for the involvement of business communities, religious and other respected people in the society in security matters concerning the emirate and the state in general, ‘’said the statement.
‘’ The meeting unanimously approved a retired local government Secretary and Director of personal management Alhaji Tijjani Usman Getso as the Secretary of the emirate council after being introduced to the council by the Emir and Chairman of the emirate council Alhaji Ibrahim Abubakar II.
‘’Other members of the Karaye Emirate council inaugurated by emir are Alhaji Isma’ila Gwarzo, Alhaji jibrin Ibrahim Zarewa, Alhaji Lawan Sule Garo, Barrister Balarabe Bello Rogo, Alhaji Sidi Mustapha Karaye and Alhaji Wada Na Kofar Yamma. ‘’
