Minister of Transportation, Rotimi Amaechi, says he was attacked by misguided Nigerians while on a national assignment in Spain.
The minister announced this on tweeter on Friday that he was rescued unhurt by the Spanish police.
Although he refused to divulge their identity, choosing to call them ‘misguided Nigerians’.
“Some minutes ago, I was attacked by a few misguided Nigerians while on national assignment at a climate change event in Madrid, Spain. They were quickly repelled by the Spanish police before they could do any harm. I am fine. I was not hurt. Thanks for your support & prayers,” he said.
However the incident comes nearly a couple of months after former Deputy Senate President, Ike Ekweremadu, was attacked in Germany by members of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB).
The ex-Senate President, Ekweremadu was in the country to give a keynote address at the Second Annual Cultural Festival and Convention organized by Ndi-Igbo Germany in Nuremberg.
He was accused by IPOB members of conspiring with the Nigerian Government to proscribe the group in the South East and the killing of its followers.
