Kano Woos Chinese Investors As Delegations Visit Northern Commercial Hub

Kano State Governor Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje has restated the commitment of his administration to partner with the People’s republic of China in boosting commercial activities in the State.

He gave the assurance at a meeting with the Business Community and a high-level delegation from Shandong Province, the People’s Republic of China held in Kano.

A statement issued Chief Press Secretary to the Deputy Governor Kano State Hassan Musa Fagge and forwarded to Solacebase on Saturday said Ganduje represented by his Deputy Dr. Nasiru Yusuf Gawuna noted that considering the vast commercial opportunities and endowments which the State is blessed with, Government would not hesitate on its effort to encourage investors to come and invest.

” We have many areas of investment opportunities that our investors can properly harness for mutual investment benefits which include Leather, Textile, Agro-Allied, and Solid minerals Industries among others ” he explained.

It could be recalled that last month,  Dr. Nasiru Yusuf Gawuna led a delegation to Shandong Province during which he signed an MOU on behalf of the Kano State Government with the Shandong Province on mutual investment relationship.

According to the statement, it was part of the visit’s agenda that the high-level delegation from Shandon Province would meet with the business community in Kano to discuss issues on commerce and investment for the benefit of the two sister States.

He said ” our gathering here is for the delegation from Shandong Province to meet with the representatives of Kano business community operating in the private sector. They are very committed and full of determination to partner with any willing investors either in Greenfield or Brownfield investment “.

Abdullahi Ganduje maintained that in trying to actualize this relationship between Shandong Province and the State investors…” The present administration would continue to lend its support and encouragement to see that our noble dream on investment comes to reality “.

The Governor further expressed optimism that the visit would be translated into reality by concretizing all investment offerings and negotiations, stressing that ” As you visited Kano and met with its people, we hope there will be exchange visits to strengthen our sister-relationship with Shandong Province  “.

In his speech, the leader of the Chinese delegation also the President of Shandong Provincial Committee Fu Zhifang expressed appreciation to the people of Kano for the great hospitality accorded them during the visit.

” We have been to some historical sites of the ancient city of Kano and some commercials centers, from what we have seen, there are a lot of endowments on investments which will soon be established between the sister States ” he appreciated.

Fu Zhifang assured the Governor that their visit to Kano would give room for investment relationship between Shandong Province, which according to him, would be beneficial to the present and future generations of the People’s Republic of China and Nigeria in general.

The delegation visited the Northstar SME industrial cubicles at Sharada which is a ready-made cluster for any interested Chinese Company, the Kano Emir’s Palace, Kofar Mata Dye pits and Gidan Dan Hausa museum among others.
