The General Manager of Malam Aminu Kano International Airport (MAKIA), Alhaji Mohammed Bello-Giade has charged staff of the airport to be disciplined and more dedicated to their duties.
He made the call on Tuesday at a sent forth party organised by the aviation security department and MAKIA welfare committee in honour of five aviation security retirees and eight others transferred to other places.
Bello-Giade, who was the chairman of the occasion, stressed the need for the staff of the airport to emulate the retirees by ensuring that they discharge their duties effectively and respect their senior officers.
He called on the retirees to forgive those who might have offended them during their time as staff of the Federal Airport Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) pointing out that the staff of FAAN have forgiven anyone of the retirees who might have been offended by them.
He wished all the retirees success, happiness and God’s guidance in all their future endeavours as they retire.
In his remarks, the Aviation Chief of Security (ACoS), MAKIA, El-Yakub Usman-Lame urged the aviation security officers to live peacefully with one another and above all be committed to their responsibilities.
“This sent forth Party as witnessed today is a clear testimony of the fact that the retirees and those transferred have lived peacefully with their colleagues here in MAKIA.
“Some of the retirees trained many of us as far as the work is a concern. So it is our hope and prayers that they will continue to remember us even in retirement,” he said.
NAN reports that the highlight of the programme includes the presentation of gifts and awards to the retirees as well as the pass out salute for the retirees. (NAN)
