Kano State Government on Tuesday shut Dukawa Dispensary Clinic in Gobirawa Dala Local Government Area for performing beyond its license, untidy environment and operating illegally.
The Private Health Institution Management Agency (PHIMA) under the state ministry of health, sealed the Dispensary in its routines Inspection and supervision to checkmate the activities of private health institutions in the state in order to safeguard the lives and property of residents.
This was contained in a statement issued by the ministry public relations officer, Ismaila Garba Gwammaja and sent to Solacebase.
It said shortly after leading the supervision team, the Executive Secretary of the agency Dr. Usman Tijjani Aliyu expressed worries on how some private health facilities downplay importance attached to human lives in the course of their operation.
Dr. Aliyu said when they visited Dukawa Dispensary, it was discovered that the clinic was conducting clinical services above its standard and unethical to medical practice.
According to him, the closure of the dispensary follows tip-off from the community and lauded the community for their understanding and wise decision to inform the agency.
