Sultan Urges Muslims To Look Out For New Moon Of Rabi’u Awwal

The sultanate council in Sokoto on Sunday requested Muslims to look for the new moon of rabi ul awwal fourteen hundred and forty-one after Hijrah tomorrow Monday.

This was contained in a statement signed by chairman advisory committee on a moon sighting at the council, Professor Sambo Wali Junaid.

It said tomorrow Monday the twenty-eighth of October two thousand and nineteen is equivalent to twenty-ninth of Safar fourteen hundred and forty-one after Hijrah.

The statement further advised anyone who sighted the new moon to report it to the nearest district or village head for onward communication to his eminence, the sultan of Sokoto Alh. Muhammad Sa’ad Abubakar.
