A coalition of Kano Civil Society Organizations on Friday staged a peaceful protest over what they termed Media bias over reportage of the 9 children abducted from Kano and sold in Anambra state.
The coalition staged a walk carrying placards accusing some media organisations and Kano state government of nonchalant attitude over the issue which they described as a bad omen to the dictate of good governance and the spirit of fair play.
Solacebase recalled that last Friday, Kano Police Command paraded suspected kidnappers and recovery of 9 children abducted from Kano and sold in Anambra State.
Speaking on behalf of the protesters Comrade Shazali Abubakar stated that, they were on the street of Kano to show their concern and condemned the act of children abduction and their subsequent conversion to Christianity adding that the most alarming issue was the manner the state government and some media organisations have taken the issue with kid’s globe.
Similarly, a leader of the protesters, Comrade Bashir Usaini stated that there is a need for all well-meaning stakeholders to come out and condemn the act and also agitate for justice for the rescued 9 and those that are still missing.
