Kano State Government has recovered 804 Cows from rustlers
The Chairman of the recovery committee Murtala Sule Garo announced this to journalists at Kwanar Dangora in Kiru local government area of the state.
He said that the committee has commenced screening the owners of the cows for authentication and onward distribution noting that modalities have been put in place to ensure justice is observed in the distribution exercise.
Murtala Garo, who is the immediate past Local Government Commissioner said that the committee was established by Kano state Governor Abdullahi Umar Ganduje and mandated to identify and hand over all the cattle to bona fide owners.
He called on the public to report to the committee any missing or rustling of animals.
The chairman maintained that the state government has provided all the logistics for the committee to conduct its responsibility without any rancor.
He warned ill-minded people not to approach the committee with the intent to claim missing cows.
Murtala Garo further said any person found giving false information to the committee will be arrested and prosecuted accordingly.
Some of the members of the committee include Murtala Sule Garo as the Chairman and the director from state Cabinet office as a secretary with immediate past state commissioner for justice and Attorney General Barrister Ibrahim Mukthar, a representative from police, DSS, Nigeria security and civil defence corps.
Others include Barde kerarriya Kano and district head of Gwarzo local government area from Emirate council Leaders, Nigeria Union of Journalists and representative of Fuldan among others
