A book on the experience of a contestant in the 2019 General elections is set for launch.
The book will chronicle the author’s challenges as a young politician, especially one who leveraged on the “Not Too Young To Run” Act to seek for political office in the 2019 polls.
According to the Chairman of the Local Organising Committee (LOC) of the event Barrister Abubakar Mujahid, the launching ceremony is scheduled for Saturday 12 October 2019.
The book is an account of the candidature of 26-year-old Adnan Mukhtar, in the 2019 elections.
Adnan was a candidate of the United People Congress (UPC), who contested for the seat of the Kano State House of Assembly to represent Nasarawa Constituency.
The book, talks about Adnan Mukhtar’s experience and challenges of young candidates, with a view to addressing the marginalization of youths in governance and politics.
The foreword of the book was written by Barrister Ismaeel Ahmed, one of the 100 most influential young people of African descent.
According to the organizers, the book will further serve as an inspiration and motivation to the youths, while also boosting their participation in the political process of the country in subsequent general elections.
Bar. Ismaeel Ahmed will be serving as the “Guest Speaker” at the event, while the founder of Maryam Abacha American University of Niger, Prof. Adamu Abubakar Gwarzo, will be the “Chief Launcher”.
Samson Itodo, the convener of the “Not Too Young to Run” movement, Richard Akinola author of Fellow Countrymen: the story of coup de’tats in Nigeria and Murtala Adogi Mohammed, youth empowerment and development expert and former SA to Governor Al-Makura on youth empowerment are part of the eminent invited speakers.
The Emir of Kano, Muhammadu Sanusi II, will serve as the “Royal Father of the Day”.
The book launch will hold at Bristol Palace in Kano.
