Kano state government on Friday sealed a private medical Diagnostic Laboratory, First Care Medical Laboratory at Sheka bus stop in Kumbotso Local Govt Area of the state.
Private Health Institution Management Agency, (PHIMA) an agency under the state ministry of health shut the health facility over illegal operations.
A statement issued by the ministry Public Relations Officer, Isma’I Garba Gwammnaja and forwarded to Solacebase on Friday said the laboratory was shut in continuation of its agency routine Inspection exercise to sanitized the activities of the private health facilities.
It said the Executive Secretary of the private health institutions management agency Dr. Usman Tijjani Aliyu, said the move is part of the agency effort to fish out quacks and illegal practices across the state.
‘’The agency closed the first care clinic laboratory after it was discovered that it was operating illegally without registration with the agency and no lab scientist or even technician available at the time of the inspection which is against the ethics of the profession,’’ said the statement.
