The Kano State Road and Traffic Agency (KAROTA) has said it impounded a truck conveying alleged contraband, fake and substandard drugs worth N7million into the State.
The Managing Director of the Agency Baffa Babba Dan Agundi directed that the vehicle and its content be handed over immediately to the state task force on drug abuse constituted by the Governor for further investigation.
A statement issued by the Agency Public Relations Officer, Nabilusi Abubakar K/Na’isa and forwarded to Solacebase on Thursday the owner of the goods fled and abandoned the vehicle after he realized that men of the Agency were on his trail which forced him to abandon the goods
It reiterated the Agency’s commitment to its duty and would continue to partner with sister agencies in the fight against drug abuse in the state which also contribute to reckless driving on the state roads.
