President Muhammadu Buhari has approved the appointment of Professor Muhammed Tawfiq Ladan as the new Director-General of the Nigerian Institute of Advanced Legal Studies.
The announcement of the appointment was contained appointment was conveyed to in a letter addressed to him dated 18th September 2019 signed by Boss Mustapha, the Secretary to the Government of the Federation.
The letter reads: ‘’I am pleased to inform you that Muhammadu Buhari, President, Federal Republic of Nigeria, has approved your appointment of as Director-General, Nigerian Institute of Advanced Legal Studies for an initial term of four (4) years in accordance with the provisions of section 5(1) & 9(1) the Nigerian Institute of Advanced Legal Studies Act, 2004.
It said the appointment is with effect from 9th September 2019 and shall be as provided under section 8(2) of the Nigerian Institute of Advanced Legal Studies Act
Professor Muhammed Tawfiq Ladan obtained his LLB, LLM and Ph.D. degrees in Law in 1986, 1990 and 1996 respectively. He obtained also two post-doctoral certificates in ADR, 1996 and Leadership and Professional Development, 2000 as a Hubert Humphrey Fellow/visiting scholar to the University of Minnesota, California State University and Harvard Law School, USA.
Prof. Ladan’s teaching, research, and postgraduate supervision career started 26 years ago at the Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, Faculty of Law (1987 to date).
