Bayero University Kano has reaffirmed the institution commitment to been pacesetter in innovative education that prepares students to be self-reliant after graduation.
The University Vice-Chancellor Prof. Muhammad Yahuza Bello stated this on Tuesday while receiving television operating license issued the University by the National Broadcasting Commission NBC.
Prof. Muhammad Yahuza Bello said the university courses are tailored towards the students being on their own in line with the federal government drive to ensure qualitative education.
He said the television operating license would be used for training of students on investigative and fact-based journalism, Human development, and foster nation’s building.
The Vice-Chancellor said the university led the way in the review of Mass Communication curriculum that gave way to the National Universities Commission NUC unbundling Mass Communication into five-degree courses as obtained internationally
In a remark, Director –General, National Broadcasting Commission, Ishaq Moddibo Kawu commended the university in maintaining the educational standard.
He appealed to the university not to deviate from the objective for which the license is issued restating the commission’s readiness to support the university to attain its goals.
