A Kano State-based Non-Governmental Organisation (NGO), Khalifa Dankadai Company (KDC) Foundation has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Bayero University Kano 1989 forum to promote basic literacy, numeracy, personal hygiene practices and soft skills with selected Almajiris so as to enhance their education.
This was contained in a statement forwarded to Solacebase by Head of Department, KDC Foundation Ahmad Adam on Tuesday
The statement said the collaboration is a 9-month Program aimed at equipping Almajiris from Selected Tsangayas ( Islamic Schools) in Gwale Local Government area of Kano state with basic literacy.
‘’And on successful completion of the program, the students would be issued a certificate that will enable them to proceed to Bayero University Kano (BUK) Center for Qur’anic Studies for further studies,’’ said the statement.
It added that some of the old students of the BUK 1989 forum spearheading the program include, the current Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academic) BUK, Prof. Adamu Idris Tanko, Former Kano state Commissioner for Finance and an international Financial Consultant, Prof. Kabiru Isa Dandago, and so many other renowned Professors and well-respected individuals from various fields.
